Terms and Conditions for Bookmash

1. Overview

Bookmash operates through a browser extension that connects your native browser bookmarks to our web dashboard. After purchasing access and installing the extension (available for Chrome, Firefox), your bookmarks are cached locally in your browser's localStorage and displayed in the dashboard interface. All bookmark data remains client-side on your device—our servers only store your email address and payment status for account authentication and access control.

2. User Requirements

To use Bookmash, you must:

1. Purchase a license to access the Service
2. Install the Bookmash browser extension on a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox)
3. Maintain an active email address for authentication
4. Ensure your browser allows localStorage functionality

The Service requires the browser extension to function. Without the extension installed, the dashboard will not display your bookmarks.

3. User Data

3.1 Account Information

When you create an account with Bookmash, we collect:

• Email Address: Required for authentication via magic link login. This is the only personal identifier we store in our database.
• Email Verification Status: Timestamp of when your email was verified.

3.2 Bookmark Data

We do NOT store your bookmarks on our servers. All bookmark data is stored locally in your browser using:

• Browser localStorage: Cached copy of your bookmarks for fast loading
• Native Browser Bookmarks API: Our browser extension only accesses your bookmarks through the Browser API to display them in the dashboard. No bookmark data is transmitted to our servers.

3.3 Billing Information

For payment processing, we collect:

• Stripe Customer ID: A unique identifier assigned by Stripe when you make a purchase
• Billing Email: The email address used during checkout
• Payment Status: Whether you have active paid access to the service

Payment Security: We do NOT store credit card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment details. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, our PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.

4. Refund Policy

You can get a refund within 7 days of your purchase by emailing us at hello@bookma.sh.
